After years of playing in the fire, we made the jump. In 2012, Fatbacks BBQ was founded. However, we had no clue what to expect. As a family, we were broken, ignorant, lost, and scared at times. However, Donald and Princess Osborne understood the commitment, and refused to back down from the challenge.

Never thought we would be here, but our lives have been shaped by the Lords hands in ways we never could have imagined.
Since that time, countless hours, long hard nights, and many tears later, we are still standing. Many changes have occurred over the years, but our direction has always remained the same, up.

Competing became more than just a weekend event. It was about real study, prep, and trial and error. During that season, we received First Place trophies in all categories throughout different events. Along with that, we captured a couple of Grand Champion seats. At one point, we were ranked 75th on the KCBS Competition Circuit.
Building
October 9, 2010
In 2010, we started to get serious about the new journey. When we got the building, it was nearly torn to shreds after the former restaurant left and over a decade of sitting dormant. We decided there was only one way to do this, not to take on debt. So we spent those few years cash flowing and doing all of the repairs by hand.
Grand Opening
September 26, 2012
Originally opening on June 30th, 2012, our Grand Opening was held in September. Marking the day of “no turning back now” and gave us the confidence to keep pushing forward.
